Middle School | 5th-7th

We challenge each girl to reach
her highest abilities.

Visit

At some schools, middle school can be a time when girls stall out academically. Not at Ursuline.

Here, there are no gender stereotypes to demolish. Our girls play every role. And they compete against all-boys’, co-ed and other all-girls’ teams — from Quiz Bowl to robotics — and win.

Our highly interactive approach in STEM and the arts keeps girls engaged with new and challenging concepts. We encourage girls to explore outside their comfort zones, try something new and expand what they’re capable of.

Our middle school girls set themselves up for high school success — whether that’s working hard to become an honors student or building leadership skills through different clubs.

Program Highlights

Honors Program

Honors language arts and math starts in 5th grade.

Project Lead the Way

Courses in design and modeling, automation and robotics, and a weekly tech lab prepare girls for taking sophomore-level science classes a year early.

1:1 Technology

Every girl is equipped with an iPad.

Club Day

Once a month, take a two-hour class with a teacher to develop talents in origami to comics to knitting.

Language Arts

Language arts classes cover every genre — from graphic novels to bestseller biographies.

Social Studies

Social studies classes incorporate geography, civics, economics, and World, U.S. and Louisiana history.

Enrichment Classes

French, physical education, computer, art and music classes meet twice per week.

Critiques

Our writing program encourages multiple drafts and critiques from peers and teachers. Instead of trashing artistic flops, girls critique what they’d paint differently.
